It’s a miracle that I get to sketch this piece today, let alone tinker with it in PS for added background effect, hehehehhe. Its the first time in this here blog that I’ve posted successively for two days. Maybe times a-changing for the better. Maybe I’m actually making some time in flexing my drawing muscles. Maybe I,uh,,,whatever…I’m just glad I did something and updated this.

Well, I was going for Elektra on this one, imagining her walking stealthily on some wheatfield (or ricefield!?) stalking some bad ass and that was just it, one over active imagination that never took form. I copped it out by drawing some chick’s back view with two puny sai blades for company …geez, lame-o…heheh…gotta try harder the next time…comments are welcomed as usual folks.

Sorry for the erratic updates or no updates for that matter. This here is the Main Man LOBO (and suede beat me to it by posting his take on the main man on his blog recently) my most favorite DC character of all, nuff said!(…my fave Marvel character of all is the Silver Surfer by the way, I’m gonna post one soonest). Although this piece is still not finished because I am still afraid to do it following my recent attempts to ink Black Spidey on my previous post. I better stay to sketches for now and a thousand apologies for this for it is still worth squat if the piece is not inked, it is only 50 or so percent finished in my opinion. I promised that I would post finished pieces in this here blog. But lack of motivation and perseverance and yeah, time left me to decide otherwise. At the least, I somehow managed to resuscitate this blog. Also, I’ve been meaning to finish it and post it here as a year ender post hence the 2008 date next to my signia but to no avail.

The piece above is obviously cleaned via PS and still I’m learning the ropes to this, the pencil lines are enhanced also to get that darkened heavy lines effect which is handy when one draws on an HB grade pencil. Heres the original first attempt sketch which has way fewer lines and Lobo still has a goatee which I left out on the final one, no dynamic poses here folks, just an in your face rendition of The Main Man himself:

And heres the scanned-prep-for-ink version of it which I was horrible at doing. If somebody knows a tutorial link on converting pencil lines to a light blue hue suitable for inking/tracing final lines I would like to know one and be enlightened on this matter:

Which made me delibarately forget on inking on it and instead add more details to the first version above and tightening it a bit so as to be more presentable and have a finality to it. The end result can be viewed by clicking on the topmost image for a better zoom with the added logo for extra lousy effect. Critiques and comments are verily welcomed.

Just want to shamelessly plug a gig again to be held at the Boss Grill @ Mango Ave, Cebu this coming Jan 17, 2009, in conjunction and in defiance with the Sinulog Festival 2009.
